Forward Sign’s Sign Manufacturing Day 2022 was held on Oct 7, 2022. Students from York University, Toronto Metropolitan University, Centennial College and local Secondary School had signed up for this exciting event. Friday, October 7 was Sign Manufacturing Day assigned by National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the International Sign Association (ISA). A day to educate local students, expand our community’s awareness, and showcase the wide range of job opportunities for the signs, graphics and visual communication industries.
In our 50,000 sq ft Workshop, we had an opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities to the students in
- CNC machineries
- Metal working
- Channel letters making
- Electrical works
- Flatbed and large format printing
- Vinyl cutting and application
At the end of the tour, everyone has a hands-on experience with their very first vinyl application, create their own customized souvenirs. Our seasoned Project Manager, Alvin, with 12 years of experience in the sign industry wrapped up the event with a sharing of his passion and experience with the industry.
The students are overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the industry, with more than 70% would consider joining the sign industry after the tour compared to under 30% before they start. They find the tour eye opening and gained much experience about the opportunities in the sign industries. We are as excited as they are.
We would like to take this chance to thank all the attendees and our dedicated staffs in making this event successful.
